MSc. in Environmental and Biosystem Engineering

The syllabus takes into account recent scientific and technical advances in the education and training of engineers. It is relevant and broad based in line with the requirements of the engineering profession. To improve on its utility, the programme has been and will continue to be re-aligned to be consistent with the changing needs of the society. It has been developed from a programme of three options to the current five distinct areas of study:
  1. Environmental Engineering,
  2. Irrigation and Water Resources Engineering,
  3. Power and Machinery Engineering,
  4. Process and Food Engineering and
  5. Structures Engineering,
Each of the area of study address a unique engineering need in the society. The programme is targeted towards those graduates who would like to practice at a higher level in industry, research and education.
Therefore, the objectives of the programme are:
To give additional knowledge and necessary skills to the engineering graduates to enable them practise at a higher level in industry, research and education.

 

Admission Requirements

  1. The common regulations for Masters Degree in all Faculties and those of the School of Engineering, of the University of Nairobi, shall apply.
  2. The following shall be eligible for admission:
    1. Holders of Bachelor of Science in Engineering with at least upper second-class honours Degree.
    2. Holders of lower second-class honours Degree in Engineering with either a relevant post-graduate diploma or at least two years relevant experience.
    3. Holders of pass Degree in Engineering with either a relevant post-graduate diploma or three years relevant experience
